Text>>> Act: 4:17

I               INTRODUCTION

V             CONCLUSION

(I)           INTRODUCTION:              Mathew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18.

Preaching of gospel is the greatest commission to all Christians, our Lord Jesus has commanded us to “Go out and preach the gospel”.

Many thanks to our spiritual father, Daddy President and his wonderful team for giving us this year theme. It was indeed a revelation from heaven, as it is a year of evangelism as many of our branches experienced a good turnaround of members increments and new parishes springing up which I am also a testimony to God faithfulness.

Gospel is our heavenly Father’s plan of happiness. The central doctrine of the gospel is the ATONEMENT OF JESUS CHRIST.

The Gospel includes all the doctrine, principles, laws, ordinances and covenants necessary for us to be exalted in the Christendom . Our savior has promised that if we endure to the end, faithfully giving the gospel, He will hold us guiltless before the father at the final judgment.

I               Repentance ( Confession, Abandonment of Sin and Restitution)

2              Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ

3              Baptism by immersion for the remission of Sins (Mathew 28:19)

4              Gift of the Holy Spirit

REPENTANCE:    Proverb 28:3, Isaiah 1:18

Repentance is one of the first principles of the gospel and is essential to our temporal and eternal happiness.

It is much more than just acknowledging wrong doings, it is a change of mind and heart that gives us a fresh view about God, about ourselves and about the world.

It includes turning away from sin and turning to God for forgiveness.

CRUCIFIXION & ATONEMENT OF JESUS CHRIST:                         Colossians 1:13-14, Hebrew 10:1-10

Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, our Father in heaven has provided the only way for ue to be forgiven of our sins.

Ref. CAMC Sunday School Manual of January – June 2016, “JESUS CHRIST THE ATONEMENT FOR MANKIND” and July-December 2016 “DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST”

The power of sin is great. To become free from it, we must turn to our Heavenly Father, pray in faith and act as he ask us to.

Satan may trying to convince us that we are not worthy to pray that our father in heaven is so displeased with us and will not hear our prayers, it is a lie as our father in heaven is always ready to help if we will come to Him with repentant heart (confess your sin and forsake it).

The Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary define as follow:-

THERE:  A particular place (Town, City, State or Community)..

THEY:    Group of people

PREACHED:         To proclaim or make known by SERMON/LECTURE, (The gospel, good tidings). Deliver a Sermon/Lecture or Religious address to an assembled group of people.

GOSPEL:               Is an account describing the life, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus.

There are four recognized gospels in the new testament, they are the first four books of the new testament Mathew, Mark Luke and John.

Arising from the meanings stated above, we must as a Christians teach the gospel to the group of people at different places

(III)         BENEFITS:            Romans 1:16-17 “for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation to everyone who believe and surrender.”

Below are some vital points as benefits to individuals, churches, nations and to the world at large

1           GREATEST TRANSFORMATION:  2 Corinthians. 5:17

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ they are a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new”

The Gospel transforms people from children of the devil to sons and daughters of God. Only the gospel can transfer a person from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of his beloved son in whom we have redemption even the forgiveness of our sin. Colossian 1:11-15

2              GRADUATES:     Psalm 75:6-7

“For promotion cometh neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south, for it is God who set up one and puts down another”

The gospel makes it clear that we are only exalted by the righteousness of Christ and not by ourselves.

3              GAINFUL EMPLOYER:     Mathew 9;36-38

“When he saw the crowd, He had compassion on them because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples. Harvest is plentiful but the worker are few, ask the Lord of harvest to send out workers into his harvest field”

There is no unemployment problem for those who are sharing the gospel and serving the Lord of the harvest.

4                GARDENER:      John 15:2

“He cut off every branch in me that bears no fruit while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful”

Case Study:        Matthew 21:18-19, Psalm 1:1-15, Matthew 12:33, Jesus and the fig tree.

5                 GROWTH:        Ephesians 4:15-16

“Instead speaking the truth in love, may grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is Christ”

The Gospel gives us the elements by which we are able to grow in maturity. mentally, emotionally, socially, culturally, ministerially morally and practically.

6              GENEROSITY:     Romans 8:32

“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also along with him graciously give us all things”

When we have the gospel we are enlightened by the fact that God will supply us with all that we need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil 4:19)

7              GUIDANCE:        John 16:13

“But when the spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own, he will speak only what he hears and he will tell you what is yet to come

Thank God that the Holy Spirit guide us into all truth, regardless of the deceit, deception and the delusional people around us are saying.

8              GUARDS:             1 Samuel 2:9

“He will guard the feet of his saints, but the wicked will be silenced in darkness. It is not by strength that one prevails. God not only protects us from danger but prevents us from walking into precarious situations.

The gospel teaches us that his ways always provide us with a way of escape so that we can bear up under any situation

9              GUARANTEES:   1 John 5:11-13

“And this is that testimony (that evidence). God gave us eternal life and this life is in His Son

10           GRACE IS SUFFICIENT:   2 Corinthians 12:9 & 10

“My grace is sufficient, for my power is made perfect in your weakness.

The gospel gives us the supernatural enabling to do things that exhibit God’s power in our greatest time of weakness, infirmity or suffering.

11           GLORIFIES GOD:      1 Corinthians 10:31

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God”

The gospel allows us to turn our hearts and minds toward glorifying God in every thought, word and deed.

12           GREATNESS OF GOD:   1 Chronicles 29:11

“Yours, O Lord is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom, you are exalted as head over all”

The gospel empowers us with the fact that God is greater than any problem, person or predicament we faced. He makes us more than a conquerors through Christ who loves us and gave himself for us.

(IV)        PENALTY FOR REFUSAL 1 Corinthians 9:16

“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory for necessity is laid upon me, yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel”

Preaching the gospel is a must for Christians and if it is not done, the consequence is damaging.

Matthew 21:18-19 “Jesus rebuke the fig tree, let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever”.

(V)          CONCLUSION

Praise, thank and proclaim the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ to all people so that you can please the Lord in all respects and bear fruit in every good work as you increase in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:9-11.
